Rhinelander, WI has been my home since 2013 where I work as a physical therapist. I am a husband, father of four boys, and a follower of Jesus Christ. My wife and I are members at Northwoods Baptist Church where I serve as a deacon. I have served on the Armis Dei school board since 2022 and have enjoyed seeing the students and families grow academically and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

My wife Mandi and I have been a part of Armis Dei from the very beginning when we were meeting monthly to plan to open the school. My main calling is as a pastor at Pine Grove Community Church where I’ve served since 2015. God has blessed me with eight children (the three youngest attend Armis Dei) and three grandchildren. When I have spare minutes, I love to read, which is why I am so thankful to be a part of a school that sees the value in great books.
Amy Cottrell
4K – Kindergarten
Hi! My name is Amy Cottrell. I have been married to my husband Michael for 25 years this coming August. We have two daughters, Emma who is 16 and Samantha who is 4. We are in the process of adopting Sam from Foster care and hope to have it finalized sometime this fall. I studied Early Childhood after high school, but ended up working in retail management, customer service and administration over the next 15 years. Since then, I have been homeschooling Emma as well as volunteering in different capacities in our church and community. I loved teaching the 4K & Kindergarten class for our first year and am excited to be able to continue this year instilling the love of learning while keeping Christ at the center of our school. Some quick fun facts about me include: I had a Kidney transplant in 2014, after being on dialysis for 5 ½ years. As a family, we enjoy playing disc golf, games and rock hunting together. One of my favorite places to visit is Pictured Rocks and Lake Superior.

We at Armis Dei are grateful you are considering us for the education of your child. We’ll be in prayer along with you. What follows is a description of the application and admissions process. Feel free to contact us armisdeischool@gmail.com with any questions along the way. We’ll be in prayer along with you as you discern what is best for your family.
Step 1 – Attend one Armis Dei Informational Sessions (sometimes called open houses). We begin holding info sessions monthly in March at least until June. If, for whatever reason, your schedule does not allow you to attend an info session, please contact us at the email above and we’ll schedule a time to meet.
Step 2 – Dive deeper into who Armis Dei is. Our website contains links to our founding documents, videos, and more information about our school. We can always provide you additional information about the Christian and Classical model of education, feel free to ask!
Step 3 – Complete an application at this link (Click the “Apply Here” link at bottom right). Applications are due by June 1, 2022. Late applications are often accepted; please inquire if you’ve missed the deadline. New applications require a $20 application fee which can be submitted via the application link above.
Step 4 – One of our board members will contact you upon review of your application to schedule a family interview and educational evaluation of your child. The purpose of the interview is to determine compatibility of the family’s goals with those of Armis Dei and to allow parents to ask more questions. Both parents, along with the prospective student(s), must be present.
Step 5 – After the interview, the school board will contact the family regarding their status and with further enrollment information.
